A weekend away with friends and family to celebrate their love. This is what Ryan and Saara wanted for their special day. The scene was perfect, as they are both surfers and ocean lovers, getting married closer to the ocean would not have been possible. On the wooden deck of Tintswalo, facing the ocean, they joined hands and said “I do!”
Special moments will be cherished forever by Saara and her girls, getting ready together on her wedding day. We where all dressed in beautiful gowns made by Love Angela. All the ladies had their hair and makeup done by Minke du Plessis.
Saara’s beautiful wedding dress was from Tying The Knot Bridal Boutique. An absolute perfect fit, flowing in the breeze and sparkling in the sunlight.
Ryan and his groomsmen where getting ready in one of the ocean side rooms, to be with his closest friends just before the happiest moment in his life will forever be a special memory. All their suits where made by Lockstock & Barrel Tailors. Saara wrote her husband to be a personal letter that he read while getting dressed.
Ryan met Saara half way up the isle, kissed her hand hand walked the rest of the way with her while Follow the Sun by Xavier Rudd was playing. A very romantic and meaningful gesture.
One of the couple’s friends, Dayne Rothbletz, married them in a very original way, his words captured their relationship perfectly. We where all laughing and crying, filled with emotions and love.
The sun was setting and the light in the reception area was warming, the smell of the ocean surrounded us and the decor was beach themed. Each table had a special name that related to the ocean. Flowers, starfish, crystals and lights hung from the ceiling creating a fairytale ambience.
The happy newly weds spent some time with their photographer, Kobus Tollig, capturing the light of the setting sun and the glow of their love and happiness.
We spent the rest of the evening celebrating, eating incredible food and dancing the night away to music from Pravada Live Electronic Jazz Band and Adrian from Next Dimension Entertainment. Saara and Ryan’s first dance was incredible and showed how much love they have for each other.
I wish for Saara and Ryan Moss to have all the love and happiness in their future!
My Wedding Day SA would like to share the story of how Sherri, owner of My Wedding Day SA blog, got engaged. She shares her story below.
I would like to share my journey with you as an official bride-to-be myself. It can be a daunting task, everyone asking, “When are you getting married?” and you have been engaged for exactly 30min. Enjoying the “engagement bubble” is very important as it is probably the shortest, but most exciting time in your relationship.
Though I have always known my fiancé is the one, I never knew how, or when he would propose. To my joy, it was all I ever dreamed and more! The day was perfect, beautiful waves, beautiful weather. I was just opening a bottle of wine at a friends house to watch the sunset when he called and said, he promised our dog that he would take him for a beach walk and he is coming to pick me up. As this is a normal daily routine I did not think anything of it and gladly went along.
Arriving at our favourite beach, Skulpies, we started walking our dog as the sun started to touch the horizon. The light went gold and the smell of the ocean was especially strong was it was one of the few days in Cape Town that didn’t have wind. I am not going to lie, I was secretly thinking in my mind, this would be the perfect moment, just as I have been thinking about all the other perfect moments in the past year.
My dog started crawling through the sand as if it was practised and my fiancé dropped to his knee and acted like my dog found something in the sand, as I got closer to look, there it was! My special, oh so beautiful engagement ring, sparkling in the sunset. He asked, “Baby, will you marry me?” and in total shock I said, “Are you joking? What? Is this real? YES! OF COURSE!” He carefully slipped the ring on my finger and the promise was made.
Still to this day I would love to know how he knew the size, as it is a perfect fit. After tears of joy, sandy feet and salty kisses, he had champagne on ice and a massive bouquet of flowers waiting in the boot of the car and we enjoyed the moment to ourselves with our dog until the sunset. We then went home to call all our friends and family. Most of them stay near by so they all popped in with a bottle of bubbly and celebrated with us.
Never did I think I would be the girl to stick out my hand and scream with excitement, but it is official, I am. The best part of the engagement is the rush of love and happiness we have surrounding us from all our friends and family. I am so grateful and in love.
I will share my journey with you, from venues, dresses, cakes, decor, photography, makeup and hair, the paperwork, wedding planners, the complete package. Follow My Wedding Day SA blog and social media channels to see updates.
The latest arrival in Montblanc’s story is Lady Emblem L’Eau, a fragrance that reflects another facet of the Montblanc woman.
The pastel green juice of Montblanc Lady Emblem L’Eau was inspired by a summer garden, “an allegory of a poetic walk in the summertime through a garden of citrus trees and fresh roses,” confides Sonia Constant, who created the fragrance.
This exquisite, meandering olfactory stroll begins with fruity accents: mandarin leaf, and the aquatic-sweet notes of white peach and exotic lychee. In the middle notes, a voluptuous bouquet of roses, the ever-present scent guiding the success story of Lady Emblem, enhances the aerial florality of magnolia. Sonia Constant essentially captured the green, fresher aspect of the rose to emphasize the lightness of the composition. Precious musks, elegant blonde cedar, and creamy benzoin form the base notes. It is a story of sparkling water, a lyrical floral-aquatic, for a woman as delicate as she is strong.

We present to you a Sugary Sweet Wedding Wonderland, a concept from a few wedding suppliers brought to life. Carla Pereira, from Mooi Photography, explains the concept behind these incredible shots.
“A mix between Mary Poppins meet Alice in Wonderland. That was our dream or vision for this shoot. The venue, Laurent Estate, was the perfect backdrop for this to come true. A soft pink and white pallet paired with accents of gold, green and the pop of our magical blue crystal cake. The most beautiful floral gown fit for a princess with layers of cotton candy – like frills made for a room filled with girly twirls and echo’s of laughter! Fun fun fun!” says Carla.
Carla continues to explain the flowers and decor. “Flowers, greenery and bark flowing from the ceiling made the room look dreamy and oh so pretty. Bark and orchids and little blue flowers made for a fairy styled ring that any girl would dream of. A sweet table packed with yummy treats, like soft coconut marshmallows and coconut ice, green macaroons and golden popcorn delight.”
“A floral umbrella to brighten up any rainy day with shoes so perfect, even Cinderella could envy. Beautiful jewels sparkling on our models neck and hair swept ever so slightly so you could see her eyes and beautifully painted lips.”
“Pretty stationary to bring some depth to our shoot, with beautiful accents of golden metallics and navy. But don’t forget the bubbly… cooling in our lush bed off floral ice cubes to end of the day.”

Stacey Arnold and Kyle Kirk
19 August 2017
Venue: Everwood Country Wedding
Decor Style: Rustic elegance , colour scheme: mint green, white and beige/tan
Number of Guests: 90
A love story between Stacey and Kyle, they met 12 years ago as teenagers attending youth at Discovery Methodist Church. They entered into Youth Ministry together and developed a very close friendship over the years. In 2011 they officially started dating. Stacey said that Kyle proposed to her on their 5 year anniversary under the lighthouse in Umhlanga Rocks at sunset.
We asked Stacey about the highlights of their day. “The quality time spent preparing with my mother and bridesmaids, revealing myself to my father for the first time just before walking down the aisle (we both we sobbing) and definitely seeing each other for the first time as I was walking down the isle – I never took my eyes off him.
Our entire ceremony was so special and personal as we were married by Kyle’s cousin who is an ordained Methodist minister and who was our Youth Pastor all those years ago when we first met as teenagers. Kyle’s brother gave the most hilarious and perfect best man’s speech – every single guest was in absolute stitches! And finally, our first dance was so special – we danced to a song that was fairly unfamiliar to our guests but extremely meaningful and personal to us. We sang each and every word to one another as we danced. A moment we had that we will cherish for a very long time.”
Stacey’s something old was simple pearl earrings and necklace from her grandmother who passed away last year, her something new was her shoes and dress and for her something blue, she had delicate flower nail art on her ring finger with a touch of blue.
We asked the couple for advice for future brides and grooms, this is what they said. “Allow yourself to be present in EVERY moment. Take time out to appreciate the little details, the emotions, the smells and the sounds – it all goes by so quickly. There was a moment when we were sitting at the main table when we both just gazed on at every person and appreciated just how blessed we were to have the support we have. It was a special moment, because it was about more than just the décor and the food, it was about appreciating where we have come from and where we are going.
